Proteomics

Mass spectrometry (MS) based proteomics has become an essential tool for biologists over the last decade. Quantifying differences between proteomes in cells and animals subjected to different biological conditions can be achieved by using either isotope-enriched peptides, proteins, and amino acids in bottom-up or top-down workflows. Isotope-enriched internal standards are routinely employed to generate precise and accurate quantitative proteomic data to determine steady-state protein concentrations as well as protein synthetic rates.
